Great is your love…
Eternity
It’s funny… I just celebrated my 8th wedding anniversary this week. My husband is so cool. He’s my best friend and I thank God for him. We’ve been through a lot together and I know sometimes it’s not easy being married to a preacher… He didn’t ask for that when we got married. I just love him so much. He’s a wonderful step-father. He loves my daughter to death. You’d think that he was her biological father the way he worries about her. It’s hard to find a man like him these days…
We were talking the other night and he told me that he hopes that we can be together in eternity when we get to heaven. That’s deep. That’s a lot of love. It touched my heart. (I hope he doesn’t mind me sharing this.)
Have you really thought about what it will be like in eternity? I mean, to sit at the feet of Jesus all day long? It’s an awesome thought. I hope that I will be sitting at Jesus’ feet right next to my husband. That would be so cool! Hanging out in eternity with no worries and none of these earthly cares. Hanging out with my best friends and family. Watching my grandfather play baseball in heaven, eating my grandmother’s fried pies, not worrying about cholesterol and high blood pressure. Not worrying about if my black suit for Sunday fits right..
Wow… Thank you God, for a way to come back into relationship with you. Thank you for your Son. Thank you for His blood that covers me and saved me and my family. Thank you for letting us know that we will have a great family reunion in heaven some day. Thank you for your love, grace and mercy… I love you Lord!! I can’t wait to see you face to face!!
The ultimate gift…
For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. Isaiah 9:6 (NIV)
I’ve been reading this scripture a lot lately. I’ve read it a few times during service in the past few weeks… Just meditate on this scripture today. Look at all the names that Jesus is called… the last one is Prince of Peace… Remember this as you go out and shop for your loved ones. Jesus doesn’t want for us to be all stressed out this time of year. Remember that greatest gift ever given to mankind… God’s Son, who came down from glory to be with us… to save us from ourselves… The ultimate gift, I think..It beats anything that you could ever give…For unto US a child is given…Receive the gift. He was GIVEN.
I have overcome the world!!
“I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.” John 16:33 (New International Version)
Remember that we have the victory. You might be going through something right now…or you might not… I don’t know your situation… I just know that Jesus has overcome the world and that when you flip to the end of the Bible… the Victory is won… Jesus has conquered the ultimate enemy…death…SO rejoice this holiday season. Know that we are waiting for our Savior to come back. Come Lord Jesus…Come!
I’m tired…
I know I haven’t posted in a while…I’m just plum tired… I’ll post something with some substance this weekend… I won’t make a promise, but I will try… still struggling through this season… I’m just not feeling it…Just not enough Jesus in it for me, so I’m rebelling a bit…
Scripture of the Day
Do you not know? Have you not heard? The LORD is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth. He will not grow tired or weary, and his understanding no one can fathom. He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak. Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall; but those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.
Isaiah 40:28-31 (New International Version)
